Happened overnight Monday January 12th. Everything counseling and teaching related I owned was lost in the fire. Pray. There were six of us faculty members that lost it all. Some had been teaching there for 20 years.

Corey was outside trying to patch some holes from squirrels when one was scared out of it's hole and ran down the front of the house.

Alex was standing at the front door with the screen door open. The Squirrel headed straight for him. Daddy yelled to Alex to close the door but it was too late - the squirrel jumped over Alex's head and into the house.

That was fun - trying to get it out. A halfhour later it was finally flushed out the side door and it scurried off to the shed.

Boy is that squirrel going to have a tale to tell his or her friends. :)

Alex is so adorable.

He also knows his letters and can count to 10... we are NOT proud of him or anything - yeah right!!!!!!!!

I (Kelly) went to Dallas this past weekend to attend the women's conference. It was a lot of fun as I got to see family and friends. Alex spent Friday night with Uncle Matt, Uncle Scott, and Simon. Thank you Matt and Scott for watching the boys for Amy and I to get away. Thank you Corey for working so hard on our floors back home.

Catching Up

We apologize that it has taken us so long to put anything new on here. Everything else has been taking priority over playing :)

I (Kelly) and babysitting two boys, Bryce and Levi, from 8:30 to 12:30 everyday. Bryce is 2 1/2 and Levi is 10 months. These two boys, together with Alex, make me think that Alex may be an only child! All of the boys are good, but it is still hard to get things done with three people pulling on me.

I am getting to know our backyard neighbor well. Vania has a little girl named Keyana that is 4 months older than Alex. They have been coming over lately in the mornings too and I am grateful for the adult company :) Vania and I have also started exercising together this week. HOpefully we will both stick with it.

Corey is busy with classes and he had a really stressful week last week with presentations in chapel 3 days and being part of a panel one night for the campus women's ministry. He and my dad finished rewiring the house over spring break and my mom and I were able to get Alex's room painted and really ready for him to live in it. Maybe I can get Corey to show me how to post some pictures . . .

We are going to try to build a kennel for Bailey this weekend so that he can be an outdoor dog again. I know Alex will miss not having Bailey around whenever he wants him. His face just lights up when I let Bailey in off the porch. Definitely my genes there, not Corey's.

After that, our next project is going to have to be working on the exterior of the house for a variety of reasons. It is a nice time of year though to be outside :)

Today Corey (mua) went kayaking down Broad river -
6 miles of mild rapids and drops. It was so awesome. What an adventure.

This morning, Kelly saw 3 deer right out our front door.

She even got a picture, but it is kind of blury.

This evening we went to Tallulah Falls north of us and saw 2 bears!

They were in the Wal-Mart parking lot in the back of two guys' trucks feshly killed. They were both around 170 pounds. Kelly got to see them up close and personal. There was even a young boy about 9 or 10 years old actually sitting on top of the bear and petting it. How funny. That's us! :)

Alex and Kelly have been in Dallas this past week. What a long week for me (Corey). They had a great time and were able to see friends and family. I am just glad to have them back in Toccoa. :)

Yesterday Alex debuted in Dr. Brock's Developmental Psychology at TFC as the developmental baby!!!! He was wondeful. Kelly took him to class and Alex crawled, stood by just holding fingers and smiled. He went to two classes with Kelly. They also Q&A'd Kelly regarding her pregnancy and the birth.

Pray for Alex today. He is a bit under the weather. He is so sweet and nice even when he does not feel well. WOW!!!

Alex is 6 months, 2 weeks and 1 day old today

Alex has been sitting and doing all sorts of cool things. But he could not get himself off of his back... until today!!! Yeah... and his fans go wild!

And...

Today he finally got that motor running and began crawling. Wow. Our world (and his) expands... Just thought I'd let you in on our life adventure.

Today Corey (me) completed his first week on the job teaching here at Toccoa Falls College. It has been a great week. I am going to love it. God is so good.

This evening we went to Henderson Falls Park to a Married Student picnic. There were nearly 100 people. Some in my classes as well. We are beginning a married student Marriage Enrichment with some of the students on Sunday.

Alex has begun fighting going to sleep because he can quickly move from his tummy to sitting up. We had to quickly raise the side of his crib. How incredible. He is such an amazing little boy.

More later... oh, we were driving toward the college from out house on back roads and saw on the side of the road 8+ tukey of all ages together. Wow!

We are doing great! Today we ran up to Grandma Griffis' to say hi for an hour for her Birthday. Kelly has never been close enough to do that.

Classes began at Toccoa Falls College this week. Last week we had meetings aith all the faculty (preplanning). It was great to meet everyone. We are so excited about our ministry here at TFC and in Toccoa at Ebenezer BC.

Alex is getting so much more interactive. He is beautiful.

We are back in Toccoa. We are excited about what is to come here.

Alex Chandler Gilbert made his debut.

Kelly is recovering and up and walking as of an hour or so ago.

Baby is healthy and weighed in at 7 pounds and 4 ounces and measured 19 inches in length.
